Welcome! I am excited to introduce everyone to my blog. I have been researching blogging for the last two years and have started blogs only to get them through the design phase then give up on them. This time it is different. I am not going to let fear hold me back any longer.
I am a 29 year old who wants to be debt free so that I can start living and giving like I have always dreamed. I have quite a bit of student loan debt (Both from my Undergraduate and Graduate programs), a car loan that will be paid off this year (YAY, one step closer) and quite a bit of credit card debt between me and my SO.
My SO and I bought a mobile home five years ago which was a smart money move for us at the time. We currently reside here with our daughter, orange tabby cat and soon to be second daughter in June 2018. As you can imagine, adding another family member increases are want and need to upgrade our home and change our financial status.
The desire to become debt free and change the financials of my family tree is what drove me to start this blog. I am hoping this blog will allow me to stay accountable to my financial goals while also being able to share the knowledge and success with others along the way. I was fortunate enough to be raised with basic fundamentals of money management by my mother who obtained her Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in accounting. These fundamentals of money management have helped me tremendously to be frugal in certain areas of my life but it has not saved me from debt completely. That is when I was introduced to Dave Ramsey and since then I have been learning the art of budgeting, increasing income and cutting spending so that we can obtain financial freedom.
While I share my journey of becoming debt free, I hope to also help others learn the basic fundamentals of money management that I have come to learn and understand.
With that said, it is time to start cultivating that money tree.
